Jurassic Event Guide — Ancient Egg, Amber Shards, Jurassic Pass & Dinosaur Egg

The Jurassic Event went live with the September 12, 2026 update (official announcement on Discord #updates). It is a 2-week limited event that adds the Dinosaur Egg, 9 new chickens, an event pass, a crate gacha, and a new map event — the Ancient Egg — as the main way to earn the event currency, Amber Shards. Community sources report the pass ends September 25-26, 2026; the official post gives no end date, so treat that window as approximate.

Everything below separates what the announcement confirms from what player guides have observed since. If you only want the short version: redeem DINOCHICKEN (50 Amber Shards + 200 Charm Dust), show up for every Ancient Egg spawn, push Battle Pass tiers for guaranteed Dinosaur Eggs, and spend leftover Amber Shards before the event ends.

The announcement does not publish hatch rates, crate odds, or an end date. Those come from community guides (TechWiser, AllThings.how, Sportskeeda, September 15-17) and are labeled as community-reported below.

The Ancient Egg Event — Your Amber Shards Engine

The Ancient Egg is a periodic map event in the middle “chaos” area (the same pit where the Golden Goose event runs). Player guides describe this cycle:

1. The Ancient Egg spawns roughly every 7 minutes and stays for about 3 minutes.
2. Small sand-colored and green event eggs appear scattered around the map.
3. Carry them to the Ancient Egg. Every delivery pays Charm Dust and Amber Shards immediately.
4. Deliveries also grow the egg through 10 tiers; each tier pays out Cash, Charm Dust, boosts, and eggs, with later tiers paying more.

Practical read: this is a delivery race, not a boss fight. You do not need to win anything — you need to be present when the egg spawns and keep hauling eggs until the 3-minute window closes. Timing matters more than power, so even early-game accounts can farm Amber Shards this way.

How to Farm Amber Shards

Three sources are documented so far:

Jurassic Event Pass

• 100 tiers, with a free and a premium track. The premium track costs 35 Robux (community-reported price).
• You earn Pass XP from hourly and daily quests — playtime, hatching, collecting from the Incubator, leveling chickens, Tower floors, and event participation.
• A Dinosaur Egg is guaranteed at milestone tiers — community guides list rewards at Tiers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100. The exact per-tier reward table has not been published officially.
• Amber Shards appear as tier rewards along the way (guides list them at Tiers 3, 5, 8, 12, 14, 18, and regularly after).

The pass is the only guaranteed source of Dinosaur Eggs. If you want the Jurassic chickens without gambling, your quests are the thing to keep up with — they reset hourly and daily, and missed quests are the main way to fall behind in a 2-week window.

Jurassic Crate — Odds and Expected Value

The crate is the event gacha, opened from the Pass menu:

A spin costs 125 Amber Shards or 19 Robux, and no pity system has been observed — a bad streak is a real possibility.

Some simple arithmetic on the 2.4% rate: you need about 42 spins on average (~5,200 Amber Shards) per Dinosaur Egg from the crate. The same egg is guaranteed every ~10 pass tiers. That is the whole decision in one line: crate spins are a lottery on top of the pass, not a replacement for it. The 0.1% jackpot containing the mysterious “Dinochicken” is the only documented route to the chicken of that name — treat it as a lottery ticket, not a plan.

Note: the official announcement also lists a limited Jurassic Pack in the shop. Whether the crate jackpot and the shop pack are the same thing is not clear from public sources.

Dinosaur Egg — Hatch Pool and Mutations

Community guides agree on a 5-chicken pool (TechWiser and AllThings.how match exactly; Sportskeeda lists the same names):

Some sources write “Tricera Hen” instead of Tricera Chick — same slot, same rate. On top of the chicken roll, each hatch can also roll a mutation at about 0.5% each (community-reported): the new Jurassic Mutation (+13.5% HP, +13.5% ATK, +10% SPD, +10% PWR) or the existing Inverted Mutation from UPDATE #1.

Where are the other 4 chickens?

The announcement says 9 new chickens, but only these 5 are documented in public sources so far. The remaining 4 — including the “Dinochicken” bundled in the crate jackpot — have no confirmed names or stats yet, so the chickens page and eggs page list only the verified five. If a source names them, check for a date and an in-game screenshot before trusting it (see the verification guide).

Feeding Pens Matter More Now

The update added 25 more Feeding Pen levels and changed Auto-Rebirth: chickens now eat from the Feeding Pens before going back to battle, and this repeats after every Tower loss. Keep your pens stocked — an empty pen after a rebirth or Tower run now means fighting unfed. The exact stat effect of eating is not published; the safe play is simply to never let the pens run dry during the event grind.

A Sensible Event Plan

This is advice, not official guidance — adjust for your playtime:

1. Redeem DINOCHICKEN first for a free 50 Amber Shards head start.
2. Catch every Ancient Egg spawn you reasonably can. It is the main free shard source and every delivery pays.
3. Keep up with hourly and daily quests. Pass milestone tiers are the only guaranteed Dinosaur Eggs in the event.
4. Leave crate gambling for leftovers. At ~42 expected spins per egg, the crate is best treated as something you do with shards you would otherwise lose when the event ends.
5. Spend your shards before the event closes. Whether unused Amber Shards carry over afterward is unconfirmed — assume they do not.
6. If you are considering the 35 Robux premium track, decide based on which tiers you will actually reach in the remaining days, not on the reward previews alone.
